Meet the Team
Dan Ramsden
Dan qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2010 and has spent the past 14 years working in professional sport. He has completed further post graduate study in Injection therapy, Independent Prescribing and also holds a Masters Degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine from the University of Leeds.
Alongside his work at Cave Physio Dan works full time for Hull KR as their Head of Performance, A role that involves the management of their Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, Medicine and Nutrition Departments. Prior to this role Dan Spent 8 years as the Head of Physiotherapy for the club while also holding a similar role with the Scottish National Team. This included providing services to the squads during the 2016 4 Nations, 2017 Rugby League World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and the 2021 World Cup. Dan has also worked with numerous international athletes including current Aikido World Champions Laura Beardsmore and Paul Carr.
Dan has a special interest in the treatment of early degenerative conditions such as arthritis as well as complex sports injuries and concussion. He has recently completed an MBA at the University of Hull and is now working towards a PhD looking into the management of complex concussion. Dan is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Leeds.
More recently Dan has developed an interest in triathlon having completed Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth in 2022 and Ironman California in 2023. Dan lives in South Cave with his wife Tori and 2 young children.
Adrian Cartlidge
Adrian is a physiotherapist of 12 years and has worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist all over the world including New Zealand and Australia. Adrian treats a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions and specialises in spinal and orthopaedic conditions including knee and hip pain. Additionally, Adrian has a special interest in non surgical management of sporting knee injuries including ACL and meniscus tears. Adrian uses a shared decision making process to ensure you choose the best type of treatment for your needs.
Outside of work, Adrian enjoys cycling and running competitively. He has been competing in cycling all over the world and also enjoys helping people with specific cycling and running injuries return to competition
Emily Abba
Emily is a fully qualified sports massage therapist and also holds a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from York St John University. Previously Emily has also completed an Honours degree in Exercise Biomedicine through the University of Newcastle.
Over the past few years she has developed experience across various sports injury and physiotherapy settings alongside her work with Neurological conditions in the NHS.

Tom Watson
Tom graduated with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation. Following this we went on the complete a Masters degree in Strength & Conditioning at Leeds Beckett University.Tom has worked for several professional sports teams including the Leeds Rhinos, York City Knights, York Valkyrie and the Yorkshire Rugby Academy.
Alongside his work for Cave Physio Tom leads the Strength & Conditioning provision for Bishop Burton College. At Cave Physio Tom offers Sports Massage and Strength & Conditioning sessions.
